Sport at Harris Academy Beulah Hill
Enrichment and Extra-Curricular Opportunities
At Harris Academy Beulah Hill, we are passionate about providing students with a rich and varied programme of sporting enrichment and extra-curricular activities. We believe that participation in sport not only enhances physical health but also plays a vital role in developing the whole student — building confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
Through our extensive sports enrichment programme, students are encouraged to:
- Commit their time to activities that develop their knowledge and understanding.
 - Consolidate and build upon their learning from PE lessons.
 - Strengthen interpersonal and communication skills.
 - Develop independence and resilience.
 - Become critical thinkers and problem-solvers.
 - Engage with our Concept Curriculum, which focuses on developing essential soft skills for life.

The PE Scholars Programme
Our PE Scholars Programme is designed to challenge and inspire our top sportsmen and sportswomen across the Academy. The programme delivers three key strands:
- Practical – Understanding the laws of the game and improving technical skill.
 - Coaching – Developing leadership and communication through peer coaching.
 - Fitness – Exploring the science of training, conditioning, and performance.

Each term, students take part in a sport rotation, ensuring a well-rounded and engaging experience. The programme is delivered to 60 students across Year 7-9 (10 girls and 10 boys per year group) and provides a platform for high-performing and motivated individuals to develop their leadership, teamwork, and subject knowledge beyond the classroom.
