Business Studies
“Successful entrepreneurs know that the best way to predict the future is to create it.”
-- Peter Drucker
The Business Studies curriculum is designed to give pupils the opportunity to explore real business issues and how businesses work. Pupils will consider the practical application of business concepts. The units provide opportunities to explore theories and concepts in the most relevant way, through the context of events in the business and economic world.
Business is a highly applicable subject that develops evaluative and critical thinkers who make well-rounded decisions based on the context provided. We provide a foundation for understanding business's actions in the real world, the ability to apply mathematical concepts to support young entrepreneurs and promote creative thinking to unleash student's curiosity in the subject.
We offer a range of qualifications that enable students to develop and master a broad knowledge and understanding of the enterprise sector, and relevant transferable skills such as research, planning, problem-solving and communication. This will encourage learners to challenge themselves by applying knowledge learnt to complete financial statements and analyse key business practices which will enable them to see themselves as future entrepreneurs.
Further details of the curriculum can be found in the documents downloadable from the bottom of this page.
